We already have a date for the presentation of bookDVD Versogramas, published by Editorial Galaxia!
It will be on October Saturday 6th, from 19:30pm at El Corte Inglés terrace, in Vigo, as part of the Festival Internacional Kerouac de Poesía e Performance. We will do a quick and agile presentation where you will be able to meet the editor Francisco Castro (from Galaxia publishing house), and part of the team of the documentary: Belén Montero, Juan Lesta and Celia Parra. We will also screen the trailer of the documentary.
International Poetry Festival Kerouac works to bring poetry to the streets and mix it with the other arts, especially music and performance, in a dynamic and modern exhibition of poetic expression: poetry readings on a ferry, poetry readings on cars through the city, at bars, galleries, schools, shoppin centers… After establishing connections with New York, where they celebrated some editions of the festival as well, this year they will bring poets like Bob Holman (founder of Bowery Poetry Club) to Vigo.
This BookDVD Versogramas is a carefully designed edition, which will be part of Libro-Cinema collection at Editorial Galaxia. It contains diverse texts around Versogramas (Verses&Frames): an approach to the transmedia project since its inception until present day (by Celia Parra), a reflection upon the interconnections of poetry and cinema (by Antía Otero), an insight into the writing process of the documentary, from the perspective of the director (by Belén Montero), an exploration of the long career of filmmakers Juan Lesta and Belén Montero (by Manolo González).
Pictures of the shooting and attrezzo, as well as fragments of the script and a short profile of each videopoet interviewed, intertwine with the texts. To sum up, of course you will find a DVD with the documentary, in its Galician version, with some extras.
Remember you can already buy the book at the main bookshops in Galicia (Spain). You will also be able to acquire it at Corte Inglés Vigo the day of the presentation and even get a copy signed by the team!
